A veteran nurse and single mother Ebere who supervises an urban hospital neonatal ICU is increasingly estranged from her teenage son Gozie. She is drawn to one of her patients, a 2-month-old baby boy with a hole in his heart called Nathan who was abandoned at the clinic. When the hospital decides to find the child a foster home, she takes the baby in after going through the legal procedure. Two years later, the boy’s mother resurfaces to take away the child from her… Ebere breaks down and vows to fight for the custody of Nathan… In the process, Ebere and Nkiru forms a close bond.
